Awake Coffee

I’m not usually a huge coffee fan, but this one here has just the right amount of sweetness with a ton of healthy goodness!

There are some things I’ve changed for my own personal taste buds so feel free to follow the original recipe or try out my suggestions!

This recipe is from the book, “Smoothie Project” by Catherine McCord.

Here’s what’s in it!


Personal Preference

Chameleon Organic Cold-Brew Coffee

1 teaspoon is sufficient enough. I used Carrington Farms Organic Ghee

Ingredients

1/2 cup cold brew coffee

2 teaspoons grass-fed butter

1 teaspoon MCT oil

1 serving collagen peptide ( 2 scoops )

1/2 teaspoon maca powder

1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup almond milk


Making the Smoothie

Blend all ingredients together starting on a lower setting and increasing it for 1 minute. Pour into a glass and place in the fridge to chill for 10-15 minutes before drinking. I like my drinks super cold!

Gimme the Good Stuff

Coffee - increases antioxidants in the blood, contains chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid

Grass-fed butter - good quality fats, stimulates healthy flows of fluids throughout the body

MCT oil - supports immune health, suppresses hunger and helps balance your gut

Collagen peptide - good for healthy skin, hair and nails. Alleviates joint pain

Maca powder - improves hormone balance, metabolism, boosts energy and fights stress

Ground cinnamon - lowers blood sugar levels and can reduce the risk of heart disease

Almond milk - high in protein, fiber and calcium
