Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

The perfect smoothie for breakfast, as an afternoon snack or dessert!

This smoothie is so good, you’ll be wishing you made it a double after your first sip!

This recipe is from the “Smoothie Project” by Catherine McCord.

So here’s what’s in it!


Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

  • 1 tablespoon cacao powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup almond milk

  • 1 dried date, pitted

  • 2 ice cubes


Making the smoothie

Combine all the ingredients into the blender. Start on a medium setting working your way up to a higher speed. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Banana - high in potassium and fiber

Peanut Butter - high antioxidant, increases magnesium, fiber,vitamin E and arginine consumption

Cacao Powder - antioxidant, high in magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc and potassium

Vanilla Extract - anti-inflammatory and contains antioxidants

Almond Milk - low in calories, dairy free, high in vitamin E and good source of calcium

Date - contains calcium, magnesium and potassium
